We have a very exciting announcement to make - after many months and lots of effort we are finally licensed to sell our raw goat's milk at the farm! In the spring we will start selling again when our mamas start producing again. The USDA requires that we have contact information for anyone we sell milk to so if you'd like to buy some milk, please either pay with a check or use the slips of paper we'll leave out to give us your name and contact info. If you'd like to see our milk processing room, the stantion where the goats are milked, or any other aspect of our milking process then please just ask!
Apple Street Farm eggs are available for sale! Eggs are $6/dozen and can be picked up from the sliding-door refrigerator in the cottage. Our hens are free-range, fed organic grains, and raised with a lot of care.
ESSEX FARMER'S MARKET
The Farmers Market is over for the season, but check back in the spring for the 2014 season.
Become a “shareholder” of Apple Street Farm. Take home the very best of Apple Street Farm’s heirloom vegetables, small fruits, herbs and flowers or enjoy a poultry share with Apple Street Farm's free-range chickens.
The Produce CSA includes a share of the farm’s harvest each week for 20 weeks from June through October, sized for a small family, as well as access to pick-your-own fields during those same months. Share pick up is on Thursdays from 2pm to 6pm in the barn at Apple Street Farm. Though we are not certified organic, we follow the organic standards and welcome any questions about our growing practices. We aim to provide both volume and variety in our vegetable share, which can include herbs, root vegetables, salad greens, cooking greens, tomatoes, potatoes, peppers, eggplant, onions and other alliums, peas and beans, flowers, herbs, etc.
Registration is now OPEN for the 2014 Produce CSA. The rate is $600 for the season. Please complete the form here and submit payment by April 15, 2014 to confirm your share.
- The Poultry CSA includes a pasture-raised, heritage-breed roasting chicken each week (or every other week for half-shares) for 20 weeks from June through October. The chickens are available for pick up on Wednesdays from 2pm to 6pm in the cottage at Apple Street Farm, and remain available in the cooler through Friday, at which time we place them in the freezer. Birds are bagged and labelled with the shareholder’s name for easy pick up. Since we choose to raise a slower-growing, and therefore much more flavorful, breed of chicken the weights of our birds are usually between 3 and 5 lbs. They live and grow on pasture, are moved to fresh grass daily, and fed organic grain.
- Registration for the 2014 Poultry CSA is now OPEN. The rate is $550 for full shares, $275 for half shares. Please complete the form here and submit payment by April 15, 2014 to confirm your share.
Each month we will celebrate the freshest ingredients of the season with a special dinner showcasing the organic produce, poultry and eggs fresh from the fields. Arrive at Apple Street Farm and take some time to explore the beautiful grounds while enjoying a seasonal cocktail and hors d’oeuvres prepared by the chefs of L’Espalier and Sel de la Terre restaurants. Then, take a seat in the open air (or under a tent in the case of inclement weather) and enjoy a four-course meal with a trio of wine pairings.
Our 2013 season has ended, stay tuned for 2014 dates!
